Learning Objectives

This Child Protection in Schools course aims to give you a better understanding of how to:

• Recognise concerns about a child
• Respond to concerns about a child
• Record concerns about a child
• Report concerns about a child
• Refer concerns about a child.

It seeks to clarify your role in protecting children in schools from abuse, harm, neglect and exploitation. The course is for all school staff and volunteers regardless of the length of the placement and age of the children.

It is everyone’s responsibility to keep children safe.
It is especially important to know about safeguarding and child protection if you are working in an educational setting.
